基本情况：
中南国家计量测试中心是国家质量监督检验检疫总局授权的法定计量检定机构,挂靠在湖北省质量技术监督局,中心的技术依托是湖北省计量测试技术研究院,并通过了中国实验室国家认可委员会(CNAL)的校准/检测实验室国家评审认可。
中心主要任务是:建立和维护中南大区级计量、标准，为大区内省级最高计量标准进行量值传递,确保本地区量值准确和统一开展科研开发、技术咨询、人员培训和学术交流工作。经过几十年建设发展，现已成为中南地区计量标准最齐全、覆盖领域最广泛、检测服务最完善的计量科技服务机构。拥有面积达2500m2的恒温恒湿、防尘防震、防电磁干扰、防电离辐射的各类专业检测实验室，固定资产3000多万元，建立和保存了涵盖长度、力学、温度、电磁、化学、声学、无线电、光学、时间频率、电离辐射十大计量专业类别的157项社会公用计量标准（含6项工作基准），具备637个项目的检定/校准/检测服务资格和能力，其量值均可溯源至国家基准；拥有一大批素质高、能力强、经验丰富的计量专业人才（高级职称62人，中级职称89 人），有突出贡献中青年专家和享受国务院、省政府特殊津贴人员20人，国家各类计量专业委员会委员13人，近年完成各类科研项目20余个，获省部级科技进步奖11项，主持或参与编制国家（地方）标准、技术规范、规程20多个。
中心成立以来，多次组织了本大区内省级最高计量标准器具量值传递和量值比对工作，积极开展大区间的技术和管理方面的学习和交流及协调工作，加强了省级法定计量技术机构的质量体系建设，并及时争取经费对大区的计量标准进行了技术改造和筹建工作。

Introduction:
Mid-South China National Center of Metrology is a legal metrological verification authorized and established by State General Administrative of The People’s Republic of China for Quality Supervision and Inspection and Quarantine. It is attached to Hubei Bureau of Quality and Technology Supervision. In technology, The Center depends upon Hubei Institute of Measurement and Testing Technology.
The main task of the Center is to establish and maintain the primary metrological standards and metrological standards of district degree in Mid-South China; to provide accurate and reliable services of metrological verification/calibration and test; to engage in the scientific researches and exploitation of metrological technology; to offer training services to the technical staff of metrological verification and calibration for enterprises and test institutes.
The Center has set up 157 items of the highest lever measuring standards in Mid-South China range. These standards cover length, mechanics, temperature, chemistry, electromagnetism, radio, acoustics, time-frequency and other metrological fields. It owns large amount international advanced measurement and test instruments to carry out 637 items of verification, calibration and test services. All measuring values are traceable to national primary standards. It owns laboratories with satisfactory constant temperature and humidity, resisting dust, vibration, radiation and electro magnetic disturbance condition and constant temperature construction to meet the demands of different items of test. It covers a 30000 m2 building area, of which 2500 m2 are temperature and humidity controlled. As well as, the Center has competent, high quality, experienced and bridle-wise professorial technical staff including 62 senior engineers and 89 engineers.
After its establishment, the Center managed the conveyance and comparison of Values of quantities of senior standard of province degree in Mid-South China district and organized several times of exchange and coordination of technology and administration. By actively applying for funds, the Center carried out the technical modification and preparatory work of standards of Mid-South China district.
