基本情况：
西藏计量测试所发展历史悠久，对西藏的计量检定测试工作至关重要。1987年经西藏自治区经济计划委员会批准成立了西藏自治区计量测试所，与自治区产品质量监督检验所“两块牌子，一套人马”。1990年“西藏自治区计量测试所”印章正式启用，但在编制上仍然未独立。直到2002年才与质检所正式分开，成为独立建制。目前计量测试所隶属于西藏自治区质量技术监督局，是依法设置的法定计量检定机构，承担着西藏全区的计量检定测试、校准工作。
计量测试所下设所办公室和技术部，技术部包括长度室、力学室、电学室、流量室、理化室，现有职工8名，8名人员均承担一定的检定测试工作。计量所严格按照考核要求进行工作，开展5大类20多个项目的计量检定。根据需要，技术人员克服路途遥远、路径艰险、工作条件差等困难，经常下各地区、县、乡工作，受到一致好评。
在今后的工作中，把继续提高人员技术能力和工作质量、尽快走上正规化、法制化道路、建立一个现代化、科学化的计量测试所作为工作重点，为西藏经济建设更好服务

Introduction:
Tibet Institute of Metrology and Measurement has a long history and plays a very important role on Metrological Verification service in Tibet. Tibet Institute of Metrology and Measurement was constituted in 1987 by ratification of the Tibet economical plan Committee. This Institute and the Institute of Quality Supervision Inspection of Productions are “of the same staffs, but differed in two signboards”. The seal of “Tibet Institute of Metrology and Measurement” was used in 1990, the institute wasn’t taken apart from the Institute of Quality Supervision Inspection of Productions and constitute independently until 2002. Now it is subordinate to Tibet Bureau of Quality and Technology Supervision. It’s a legal metrological verification institution and provides technical support and service in respect of metrology verification, Calibration and Test.
The Institute sets up 2 functional departments such as the Office, the Department of Technology. the Department of Technology includes 5 laboratories such as the laboratory of Length measurement, mechanical measurement, electronic measurement, flow rate measurement, physic-chemistry measurement. The Institute has 8 peoples who carry out the task of verification and measurement. The Institute’s activities are conformed with the demand of the Rules for Examination of the Service of Legal Metrological Verification. All the standards cover every species of 5 metrological categories and more than 20 kinds of verifications/calibrations can be performed. The workers always go to county to carry out the task of verification on-the-point in the light of the needs of consumer undergoing the hardship, long way and bad conditions and obtain the consumer’s appreciation.
In the future, Tibet Institute of Metrology and Measurement will lay stress on improving ability of technology, the quality of service, establishing a normalized, legal, modernized and scientific institute, providing a high quality service for the economic development of Tibet.
